Mar. 2011

After staying with Staci's girls for a week I think you learned some new things:) The other day I told you, you couldn't do something and you said "Fine!!! You're not my best friend anymore!" It was so funny because I have never heard you talk about best friends before. Later on we talked how you can have more than one best friend at a time and you liked that idea.

Last night 3/21 you were downstairs with daddy in the pantry and was standing on an empty bucket. You fell and head planted on the ground. You cried downstairs for a while and dad was trying to comfort you. You came up a couple minutes later and had a huge goose egg on your eyebrow. I was not expecting it and when I looked at it I actually got really dizzy! Geesh I know how lame is that! I tried to get you to ice it but you thought of course it was going to hurt you more so you would not have that. Today your eye is pretty swollen but not too bad, we will see if it darkens up after a couple of days:)

Feb. 2011

This weekend we moved your train set downstairs. Daddy went down with you to help ease you into the transition. You have done well so far and have even gone down by yourself a couple of times.(02-03-11)

It is hard to believe you are four! We celebrated your birthday the weekend after we got back from our trip to Hawaii. We felt pretty bad for not being there on the actual day of your birthday. Staci and her family had a big party for you though and it sounds like you loved it. You were always saying how you wanted two birthdays this year and you did have two. You wanted at Polar Express cake but still liked the tunnel train cake I made. We also had magic candles so everyone got to blow some out. Some of Staci's girls stayed over the night before and were there to celebrate along with Grandpa and Grandma Williams and some more nieces from Idaho Falls. You got some new track and a new train with a remote. You later also got a Thomas shirt from grandma Palmer that you love and want to wear every chance you get.It was a fun filled day and you had lots of fun playing with your cousins.

Jan2011

It's hard to believe another year has come and gone. One Saturday morning when i was teaching Jazzercise, dad woke up and couldn't find you. He ended up finding you in the kitchen closet in the dark shoveling ice cream in your mouth and fast as you could. It was hilarious. Speaking of sweets you usually ask every morning if you can have a cookie, ice cream or some other treat for breakfast. I think if you keep on asking that one day it will happen. :)
The new year brought on a big change for you at church. It is still weird to think that you are in primary and not in nursery. You are adjusting ok. You still ask to go to nursery and play. You are getting better though and it helps that all your friends are in class with you.
Everyday you get our your train box and build a track in the living room. You are becoming quite the builder and get creative with your designs. Taylor is right there with you and usually end up taking apart your trains or track. You try to be patient but she makes it difficult.:)

Christmas 10

This Christmas has been such such a fun year for you. You are finally getting old enough to understand Christmas, the baby Jesus and Santa Claus. Grandpa Williams came and visited us at the beginning of the month and brought us all their presents from them to us. It was pretty hard trying to explain to you that we still had lots of days before we could open them. We made a paper chain countdown and I got you and Taylor a chocolate advent calendar to open each day and get a little treat.
The first weekend in December was the ward Christmas party. After all the eating and games were played, Santa made a visit. At first you were not to excited to see him. After about 20 minutes of watching many other kids see him you decided that you were going to see him. You went straight up to him and sat on his lap and was not scared at all. You are funny like that. You may be a little leery of something at the beginning but once you are able to observe and check it out you decide if it's ok or not ok to do something. You must get that from your dad:)
We had the Palmer Christmas party the second weekend in December at Staci's. You still love going over there and playing with her kids and the toys. Jeremy got you a green tractor that shakes when it moves. Grandma Palmer got you a train set that you were so excited about. You are still in love with trains.
We also made it to the South Hills this year. It was really rainy when we went though so it was a really quick trip. You had fun running around with Lydia and seeing everything.
Christmas eve started out at the cemetery where we sang around Zach's and Chance's graves. We then went to Staci's for Christmas eve dinner and had yummy prime rib and good food. Before we started eating though my dad told us all that he had a surprise and sent all the kids into the girls room. They went outside and came back in with two puppies! One was white and chubby and one was back and a little skinner. We got the black and Staci got the white one. We were all pretty surprised. We weren't going to get another dog till we moved but not now! He has been pretty good so far so we will see how this goes:) We decided to name him a Christmas name and named his Ralphie off of the Christmas Story movie.
The next morning you were in cuddled up with us. I kept on waking up periodically through the night. I think I was excited too! You woke up around 7:30 and first thing you did was ask if Santa came. I told you he did and you were so excited! You wanted to run out and see everything but I told you,you had to go wake up Taylor first. So you went and did that and then you came out to see what Santa brought. Santa got you two tonka trucks and a wooden train that you can push. Of course you were mainly excited about the train! After a little while we opened presents and you were a pro. Like last year you had to get off a the wrapping paper before you could fully enjoy the present. You got some Lincoln Logs that came with a train set in it, some clothes and big wooden floor puzzle from Grandma and pa Williams. We got you a James train. You loved opening everything and the excitement of the day. Later on that day we were sitting on the couch and you looked at me and said,"mom is Christmas over??" I said well the day is over but the spirit of Christmas can be in your heart. You kinda looked at me for a while and said "oohh"
For the next couple of days you would wake up and ask if Santa had came again. I would tell you no then you would ask if it was Christmas Eve.:) You are truly getting so big! I cannot believe you will be a sunbeam this new year. It has been fun to have you understand about the sweet baby Jesus and the spirit of Christmas.

October and Halloween 10

Geocaching has become one of our favorite things to do together. It takes us to new places and we find all sorts of treasures!
Using your binoculars to find the geocache
We found it!!!
Checking out the park past Niagria Springs
We went to a "pumpkin patch" with some friends.
After the pumpkin patch we went to the CSI corn maze. The kids loved running around all the different paths and hiding in the corn and scaring us as we walked by.
For Halloween this year we did some trick or treating around the neighborhood and then went to the church for games and activities. This year you were starting to care about what you wanted to be for Halloween. We had to be really careful not to tell you how cute you looked in your dinosaur/dragon costume because you would get mad and not want to wear it. It will be interesting to see what you want to next year. I think my years of "cute" costumes are coming to an end with you:)

YES I CAN!

Whenever Lucas get frustrated with something he will say " I CAN"T DO IT!!!!" We always look at him and say. "Lucas what would Bob ( bob the builder) say?" He looks at us and say with a new determination, "Yes I CAN!" Love it:)

August 10'

Man what a summer! Lucas you were in such a silly, crazy mood today! I swear your nursery leaders spiked your juice or something because you were bouncing off the walls!!

You love to laugh and when you think something is really funny you do this gut busting belly laugh that is so hilarious!

We started off August by going to the circus that came to Gooding. It was well how do you say it...interesting..... lets just say small town circus's are probably left avoided. But we thought that you would enjoy it so we went. You thought it was ok but you had a
fascination with your entrance ticket. You got it earlier that day and had to hold it in your pocket all day and was so proud to show daddy. We also got the chance to go fishing. We went down to Niagria Springs. You love it. I would cast your line out and you would quickly reel it in. After a couple of times of doing that I told you to let it sit for awhile. After a couple of minutes I looked over to see this determined look on your face and you were reeling in slowly. I looked into the water and saw that you had reeled in a fish all the way to the bank! I was so surprised! We quickly pulled it up and I told you to hold it up so I could take a picture and as daddy was holding it up it slipped right off and went back into the water. That was okay though you were just excited to catch a fish. It was about seven to nine inches. A couple minutes later I caught a small little minnow. As we were driving home we called my dad to tell him about our fishing trip. You told him that " I caught a big fish, mommy caught a little fish." It was so hilarious, I was laughing so hard!

You went to the dentist for the first time this month. You were excited/nervous to go. When you got there you sat on my lap on the chair and I tried to get you to open your mouth so the Dentist, Dr. Lambert could count your teeth and just have a friendly visit:) You would not open your mouth so we finally had to pry your mouth open. Once he did that you realized it wasen't too bad. He said your teeth looked pretty good. Hopefully if we start with prevention while you are young that it won't require you to have too much work done.
We celebrated my birthday this year at home. You were excited for my ice cream cake and daddy got some little sugar decorations that you could put on all by yourself. You also put on all the candles. You say Happy Birthday like Happy Birpday. It is so dang cute. You have got the song down pretty good.:)
We also went to the famous Gooding Rodeo. Earlier in the week you went to the parade with Daddy and Taylor. I was in it representing Jazzercise. Daddy said you loved the parade and caught on fast about the candy part. We went to the Rodeo and you thought it was pretty cool. You liked watching all the horses and cows. The next night we went to the fair and walked around the animals and took you on one ride. I basically had to force you to go on it and at the beginning you were freaking out and was not impressed. After a couple of times of you going around you relaxed and had fun.
The last thing we did in August was go to Bear Lake for our family vacation. You love to go Lucas. You liked being in a new place and playing around the pine trees. We played Bears where daddy was the bear and we would run and hide from him. We also went to Bear Lake. It wasn't the warmest day but the water wasn't too bad. you went out a couple of times and had fun building sandcastles and trying to fly a kite with dad. We bought the kite in Oregon last year and it was not working for us at all. We gave up and tried the next day. I finally got it up in the air and was trying to unwind the string more and I accidentally let go of it. Dad tried to chase after it but could only go so deep in the water because of his phone. We had lots of fun exploring new places and creating new memories as a family.
